Ron Coleman

Ron Coleman grew up on a farm in Oregon. There he lived until he joined the US Navy. His poem writing started while stationed in Cuba, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The most notable poem, "Here's to You America" was read by Paul Harvey on some of his newscasts in 1976 for America's bicentennial Fourth of July celebration. This poem was also narrated by Mr. Coleman at Oregon's bicentennial city celebration in 1976.

Mr. Coleman has been an inspiration to others by receiving the President’s gold award two years in a row and volunteering more than four thousand hours a year in community service. Mr. Coleman was chosen to audition for the TV show, You Can Be a Star hosted by Jim Ed Brown for his voice and the songs he had written. Recently, he was interviewed by Mr. Al Cole on his "People of Distinction" radio show.
